Gurugun's Commitment to Social Impact
At Gurugun, we believe in making a positive difference in the communities we serve. Our commitment to social impact is deeply rooted in our values and is reflected in our various initiatives and partnerships.
Empowering through education
One of our key focus areas is education through our ongoing support for the NRL’s School to Work Program. This program seeks to support young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with work experience, mentoring, and leadership opportunities to ensure they successfully complete school and transition into further study, training, or meaningful employment. As a Local Partner, we’re supporting program participants to understand family histories, explore employment and education opportunities, and other strategies as they transition from school to work or continued education.
Collaborating for greater impact
Our partnerships extend beyond education. We collaborate with various organisations to address broader social issues, bring people together and create lasting change. Some of our key collaborations include:
Gurugun Community Day
We brought kids, families and community together for the NRL Indigenous Round to celebrate culture, community, and connection through the sport of rugby league. Sponsoring a bay of tickets with support from the Raiders, Gurugun provided the opportunity to honour shared heritage, celebrate achievements, and strengthen bonds within the Indigenous community.
Corroboree Community Day
We supported a day of yarning, culture, and connection to community and Country for hundreds of First Nations students from Ngunnawal and Ngambri country. Students enjoyed activities such as dance, sport, spear throwing, weaving, art and craft, and learnt about health, education and wellbeing.
Non-Profit Organisations
We partner with non-profit organisations to support their activities and amplify their impact. This includes providing resources, expertise, and funding to help them achieve their goals.
The Gurugun way
At Gurugun, we are proud of the positive impact we have on the community. We are committed to continuing our efforts to help people realise their goals and dreams. We’d welcome yarns with any person or organisation striving to build to bright future.
