The Challenge

Our federal government client wanted to implement a leadership development program to enhance self-awareness, develop new skills, and improve efficacy as leaders, targeting Executive Level 1 and 2 leaders, and Senior Executive Staff.

What we did

In partnership with the client, we crafted a leadership program integrating coursework, training, mentorship, and practical challenges. This program was built on a collaborative foundation, utilising a curriculum backed by the Centre for Creative Leadership. We personalised the experience through the Hogan Assessment System.

The outcome

The leadership conference was well-received, with high participant ratings, particularly for the quality of facilitation. The positive feedback emphasised the value of peer connection, shared knowledge, and the application of learned tactics and strategies.

The Challenge

A strategic initiative was undertaken to evolve a government department’s support systems, aligning policy, processes, workforce, and systems to equip the organisation with fit-for-purpose products and support systems.

What we did

We partnered with the senior leadership team to assess and enhance change leadership capability. This involved leadership interviews, surveys, workshop activities, and personality trait assessment tools, fostering a unified voice and transparent communication within the workforce.

The outcome

This partnership led to improved teamwork among leaders, a coherent message to employees, and optimised benefits of the program, ensuring the organisation was well-equipped to realise the desired future state of effective and resilient capabilities.

The Challenge

Gurugun’s approach to coaching and mentoring is centred on a collaborative partnership with clients, focusing on their unique needs and objectives. 

What we did

We engage with clients to understand their specific challenges and tailor our coaching and mentoring programs to align with their strategic goals. Our methodology involves a blend of evidence-based practices, interactive workshops, and personalised assessments, ensuring that each program is impactful and fosters sustainable growth. 

The outcome

We emphasise the development of leadership skills, team building, and conflict resolution, equipping clients with the tools and insights needed for continuous improvement and success

The Challenge

The client, a newly established organisation, needed to align its strategy and performance with its vision and values, and to develop its leadership capabilities and culture. The main challenge was maintaining a sustained focus on these aspects during the organisation’s growth.

What we did

Our team co-designed a programme to assess leadership and organisational performance, facilitated leadership development workshops, and provided advisory services for key hiring decisions. We faced challenges in engaging all stakeholders and adapting to the organisation’s evolving needs.

The outcome

The project led to improved leadership and organisational performance, increased staff ownership and commitment, data-informed hiring decisions that enhanced the executive team, and established our long-term partnership and credibility with the client.

The Challenge

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) sought to enhance the wellbeing of their Major Collision Team (MCT) members and equip their leaders with practical strategies to manage stress and trauma exposure. The goal was to provide a comprehensive training day focused on wellbeing and leadership development.

What we did

In collaboration with the AFP, we facilitated a training session at the ACT Police Road Policing Centre in Hume. The session covered general wellbeing, mindfulness, mindful leadership, and included practical exercises to apply the learning. We discussed the importance of maintaining physical and mental health in high-stress environments, introduced mindfulness techniques to help participants manage stress and stay present, and explored how mindfulness can enhance leadership skills and improve team dynamics. Participants engaged in exercises to apply the concepts of mindfulness and leadership in their daily routines.

The outcome

The training session was well received by the MCT members. Feedback highlighted the value of the practical strategies provided and the relevance of the content to their operational environment. Participants appreciated the focus on wellbeing and the applicability of mindfulness techniques to their roles. The positive feedback underscored the session’s impact, particularly in a team known for its resilience and experience.
